Cathy Molloy

Children's Physiotherapist

Helping every child be the best they can is what drives Cathy in the area of paediatric physiotherapy. Creating an environment that optimises a child’s development and addresses their musculoskeletal, orthopaedic and neurological needs can be a challenge – and this is where Cathy’s expertise lies.

Cathy graduated from the University of Sydney in 1997 and has since had a variety of physiotherapy roles in public health including Clinical Educator and Team Leader at both Mona Vale and Manly Hospitals.

After having her own children Cathy began to focus on paediatrics – working in the private and NGO sectors, and most recently as the Paediatric Physiotherapist for the Northern Beaches Health Service. In this role she has provided both outpatient and inpatient physiotherapy care for babies and children, including working in the Children’s ward, Maternity ward and Special Care Nursery across both hospitals.

A holistic family centred approach is essential when treating children. For paediatric physio to be successful it needs to be playful and enjoyable while working on specific goals. Harder than it looks! As a mum herself Cathy is familiar with the demands of family life and so endeavours to find ways that kids can engage in specific exercises during the family’s usual daily routine.

Cathy is also a Certified Infant Massage Instructor and has experience conducting hydrotherapy classes for babies and toddlers.

As a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association and the National Paediatric Group, Cathy is dedicated to professional development.

When she isn’t spending time with her three kids, 1 husband, brown lab and pygmy bearded dragon, you’ll find her running the soft sand at Palm Beach and surfing her longboard (badly) at North Avalon.
