Steph Alberts

Steph has been a practising physiotherapist since graduating from the University of Sydney in 2014, she is currently studying a Masters of Sport and Exercise Physiotherapy at La Trobe to try and achieve her goal of becoming a titled sports and exercise physiotherapist. With a keen interest in sports, Steph has had the opportunity to work with professional track and field teams in the USA, ANSW Juniors, AON Uni 7s Sydney Rays and has completed internships with NSW Rugby Union/ Australian U20 Rugby Union. Currently, she holds the position of co-head physiotherapist for the mighty Warringah Rats (Warringah Rugby Club).

Coming from a high-level sports performance background, Steph understands the demands of sport but also the importance of being able to look after the person as a whole, not just a specific body part. She believes that physio should not only treat injuries but act as a preventative measure and performance enhancement. She really enjoys being able to help people reach their performance or life goals while at the same time making a positive impact on people’s lives. Steph has a special interest in treating running injuries, tendinopathy rehabilitation and dance-related injuries, particularly hamstring injuries and their rehabilitation back to sport.

Outside of work Steph enjoys getting out for a run, swim, cycle or any other form of activity that allows her to stay in the great outdoors and explore the globe! She lives locally, good luck trying to keep up with her if you see her running past you on the beach………
