Suellen Dennehy

Pilates Instructor

We are pleased to be able to introduce Suellen to our MGS Reformer Pilates Team. She brings 25 years’ experience in the Fitness Industry teaching outdoor fitness, aqua, circuits, boxing and Personal Training.

  • She has presented at Filex (fitness professionals convention) for over 10 years.
  • Previously part time Cert 3 & 4 Lecturer & Assessor at Institute of Fitness whole teaching fitness and Personal Training.
  • First started Pilates in 2000 then completed Mat and Reformer with Michael King UK Pilates in 2001
  • After teaching Pilates for over 20 years, recertified with Polestar Pilates in Mat (2019) and Reformer (2021) and currently studying Comprehensive Studio Rehab (due to be completed at end of 2022)
  • Certified in Pilates: pre/post-natal, OOV, BOSU, Wunda Chair, Trapeze Table, Spine Corrector, Ladder Barrel

Suellen’s Pilates Journey started in Manly many years ago, after a lifetime of high intensity exercise, she discovered a form of exercise that was kinder (but challenging) to her body. This meant that she was able to prevent more injuries due to the benefits of Pilates.

After over 11 years of teaching Group Pilates in bigger gyms and attending many workshops and updates she chose to undertake more comprehensive studies in Mat Pilates and Reformer Pilates with Polestar.

This has given her the inspiration and skillset to teach smaller, more specialized classes, using her experience to provide a lot more personal attention to participants.

Suellen believes that Pilates is suitable and excellent for all people, with each finding different benefits according to their needs.  Whether its strength, mobility, flexibility, balance, rehab or simply as a complimentary adjunct to their regular training.

Suellen writes,

“As we age, we need to focus on what our bodies can do and not what we can’t. How are we going to LIVE the rest of days on the earth? In pain or being able to move with ease.

Movement and fun have always been in my life (and MGS physio!) and I believe its fundamental to find movement you enjoy.

My classes are safe, effective, and fun and some might say entertaining at times!”

When she’s not teaching, you will find her chasing the elusive handstand, somersaulting on a trampoline, updating her knowledge, or relaxing at the beach.

Or you might spy her on TVSN’s famous infomercials, passionately talking about the benefits of Reformer Pilates.

Most people that Suellen has met over the years teaching Pilates, only had one regret……..

They wish they started sooner!
