How Can We Help You?

Get easy access to high-quality treatment

Easy access to high-quality physiotherapy care

Our skilled Manly physiotherapists treat a wide range of conditions, including knee pain, shoulder pain, hip pain, ankle injuries, sports injuries, headaches and more. You don’t need a referral to book an appointment.

We use the latest evidence to guide our treatments and pride ourselves on being approachable, supportive and easy to access when you need care.

Find the cause of your pain to give you long-lasting relief

Treating symptoms alone often leads to recurring issues. At MGS Physio Manly, we take the time to understand what’s really driving your pain or injury.

We assess how your whole body moves and create a treatment plan that may include manual therapy, strengthening exercises, flexibility work, Pilates or other targeted interventions. The aim is long-lasting relief and fewer setbacks, not repeat flare-ups.

Common Conditions We Treat

Our Manly physiotherapists regularly help patients with:

  • Back and neck pain

  • Shoulder, knee and ankle injuries

  • Sports and overuse injuries

  • Post-surgical rehabilitation

  • Chronic pain and stiffness

  • TMJ (jaw pain) and headaches

  • Vertigo and balance issues

Whatever you’re dealing with, we’ll tailor a plan to help you move with confidence again.

Low-level aches can easily turn into bigger problems if ignored. Early physio care often makes recovery quicker and easier.

Fix your low-level muscular aches and pains before they become a real problem. As the old adage goes: prevention is better than cure.

Benefits

Whatever your muscular ache, pain or complaint; dry needling can help. By targeting trigger points, this method reduces inflammation, releases tension and relieves pressure in the muscles.

Pain relief can be felt immediately but the benefits are also long-term in both a prevention and recovery capacity. This technique also helps to switch on muscles that are having difficulty firing correctly.

Method

Dry needling involves introducing very fine, solid filament needles into the skin. The needles have been proven to create an immediate change in local circulation. This process kickstarts the healing chemicals which help reduce inflammation, relax an over-tightened muscle or, conversely, activate a weaker muscle.

Results

Pain relief is often immediately felt, and in many cases you should also see an increase in both range of movement and muscular activation (or performance) within the first 24 hours. This technique is powerful and capable of creating a long-lasting positive effect in as little as 2-3 treatment sessions.

Post treatment

You may experience some soreness on the day of treatment, but this can easily be remedied by applying ice for 20 minutes or so. We ensure that you walk away with a whole host of tips, tricks and recommended home exercises, so you can confidently take healing into your own hands. Later, when you feel ready, practices such as yoga, Pilates or mild strength training can also aid your recovery.

Went in to see Adam at MGS for a knee injury and received great treatment. Adam was honest, professional and caring. He did not put pressure to re-visit if it was not required. Highly recommended team at MGS.

Dry Needling MGS Physio

Dry Needling at MGS Physiotherapy Manly

Dry needling is one of the hands-on treatments we use to reduce muscle tightness and pain. Using fine, sterile needles, we target trigger points within the muscle to help release tension, improve circulation and restore movement.

It’s commonly used for sports injuries, back and neck pain, headaches and stubborn muscle stiffness. Your physiotherapist will assess whether dry needling is suitable for you and include it as part of your tailored treatment plan.

Treating the cause, and the symptoms

Treating the symptoms will only mask the underlying cause. We work consultatively with you, and experiment until we unearth the real root of your issue.

We hear you

One of the reasons we proudly hold so many lasting client relationships is our dedication to actively listening to people’s problems, feelings and intentions.

Questions Manly patients might ask us…

What conditions do you treat at MGS Manly Physio?

We help with sports injuries, chronic back & neck pain, post‑surgical rehabilitation, women’s health issues, TMJ disorders and more.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is required to see a physiotherapist.

Will you remind me that I have an appointment with you?

Yes! You will have your appointment confirmed a day or so before by text, email or telephone call – whichever you prefer.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Wear comfortable clothing, bring any relevant scans or referral letters, and arrive 10 minutes early to complete paperwork.

Is parking available at the clinic?

Yes, there is free street parking on Griffin Road and Pitt Road. Bus 166 also stops nearby.

I'm running late!

Our aim is that everyone receives the attention they require and while achieving this we attempt to utilise all of our available time.  If you are running late please call ahead and our Receptionist will check with your physio to see if it is possible to still see you.  There may not be enough time to attend to your needs effectively.  If we rush you through your treatment it is at best not helpful to you and at worst unsafe.  We can simply reschedule your appointment for a later time.
